About us

Japanese Society of Breeding is an General Incorporated Association in Japan. The purpose of this association is to promote research and technological progress related to breeding, exchange and cooperation of researchers, and dissemination of knowledge. The contents of the business are as follows.

• Holding lecture presentations in spring and autumn
• Holding symposiums and sponsorship
• Publication of the international journal “Breeding Science” and the domestic journal “Breeding Research”
• Publication of “Breeding Research” Separate Volume, a collection of abstracts of spring and autumn lectures
• Awards such as the Japanese Society of Breeding Award, the Japanese Society of Breeding Encouragement Award, the Japanese Society of Breeding Achievement Award, and the Japanese Society of Breeding Paper Award
• Strong promotion of international exchange
• Other projects necessary to achieve the purpose of the Society

Membership

Anyone who wishes to become a member should apply for the membership by completing the online application form below and paying the membership fee.

If you cannot apply online, please send the application form to the administrative office of Japanese Society of Breeding (jsb@nacos.com).

Payment of the membership fee
Annual membership fee for a member in Japan is 10,000 yen and the student fee is 6,500 yen.
The membership fee for a member who lives outside Japan is 6,500 yen (without journal subscription) or 8,000 yen (with journal in Japanese (育種学研究) subscription).

You can pay the membership fee by credit card or via bank transfer*.
*Bank transfer is only for those who live in Japan.

Please check the email regarding the payment that will be sent within a week after completing the online membership application. Please note that during the year-end, New Year, or summer holidays, there may be delays in processing.
